South Boston Family Portraits | Boston, MA
It was SUCH a pleasure to see this family again this past weekend. Third year in a row for family portraits with them, and I love getting to watch their girls grow up! Each year, we’ve done something different — a local park, a local historic house, and this year, mom requested a location with water. So, I suggested one of my very favorite places on the planet — I go weekly with my own kids — Castle Island in South Boston. With a beach, a pier, a historic fort, and a playground, what could be better for capturing portraits of the kids at the peak of summer?
This year, as a treat, their mom (who always goes all out, planning the girls’ outfits and accessories), got them gummy fruit on a stick. The original idea was to give them to the girls as a treat after we were all done, but they were just too tempting, so they kept coming out in the portraits, and honestly, I think they went perfectly with the summery vibe 🙂
It was a hot morning, even though we tried to get an early start to beat the worst of the heat (and as always, for the light — there isn’t much shade at this location, so we tried to catch the tail-end of golden hour after sunrise). Here are a few of my favorites from this year, and I’m already looking forward to planning next year’s portrait session!
