There is a lot to juggle when you have a new baby, especially if you also already have another child or children.  Sometimes things slip through the cracks.  I often get panicked emails from parents who meant to book newborn sessions before their baby was born but baby is here now and they just realized they never quite got around to it — they ask “Is it too late? Can you fit me in?” And here’s the thing — as a mom of three, I absolutely totally get where they are coming from, and will do whatever I can to squeeze them in — newborns change so fast, and I don’t want any parent to ever have that sinking feeling that they missed the moment.

When do newborn sessions usually take place?  Usually within the first two weeks, but not always — especially with the pandemic, I’ve been photographing a lot of “older” newborns in the past year.  This sweet darling was already two weeks old when her mom reached out, but she’s was an absolute dream to work with — some babies just keep their newborn-ness a little longer 🙂

It’s not just the newborn-ness that fades so fast — it’s all the baby stages, and that’s why I always encourage my newborn clients to sign up for my First Year Program, which allows us to capture all those milestones in the truly momentous first year.  Here are some of my favorites of baby A and her family — I’m excited to see how she grows over the next 12 months!
