Oh my goodness.  This little guy was SO sweet.  Ten days old and cute as could be.  I met him at his home — I love doing newborn sessions at the family’s home so everyone can be nice and comfy in their own space.  And whether you live in your home for decades or move a few months after Baby arrives, there is something really special about the place you bring your baby home to.  As a mom myself, I know I get a little nostalgic whenever I drive or walk past the apartment we lived in when my oldest was born (we moved when he was about a year and a half old, but all our first baby memories are in that space).  As I look back at the photos of my oldest child’s babyhood, and treasure those memories, that’s just want I want to give to my clients.

As I was saying, little baby F was super adorable, and his parents also set aside a couple of very special items to use in his portraits — a quilt made by one of his grandmothers for him, a hat made for him by his other grandmother, and a handmade wooden rattle made by his grandfather.  A baby comes into the world and is part of a community, and that’s so important.  Even though the pandemic might make it challenging for loved ones to visit in person, they still send love, and including those tangible expressions of love are an important part of documenting who this child is at this point in their lives.

These are a few of my favorites from our time together.  If you’d like to schedule a newborn session for your little one, reach out here so I can get you on the calendar.
